December 2011 Network Newsletter

The network is expanding rapidly and we’ve already outgrown our current venue! With many new faces gathered around the table, we kicked off with a creative brainstorm on nature’s strategies for diffusing light led by a local team from Presidio Graduate School that is competing in the 2011 Biomimicry Student Design Challenge. Most innovative idea? Mushroom fibers.

Before dividing up into project teams, members were introduced to the “Connect. Learn. Do.” framework for local action and learned that new networks are forming in Chicago, Japan, New York City, and several other regions. The Bay Area Biomimicry Network is in good company and off to a great start.
